Decor editor

Build the setup the way it will stand at the venue: in real size, from real items, in the colors of the event.

The editor is the heart of IQDeco. Here you build the decor the way it will stand at the venue: in real size, from real items, in the colors of a specific event. No drawing skills needed — a project is put together from ready-made library items and your own photos.

A real-size canvas

The canvas is the venue to scale. You set the width and height of the area in centimeters or in feet and inches — the units are chosen in your account settings — and every item on the canvas has its real size too. Place a 2.4-meter arch, and it will stand exactly that wide next to the wall, the table and the stage.

To judge the scale, you can put a human silhouette on the canvas — 170 cm tall by default, and you can move it. A grid with 10 cm steps and meter marks along the edges helps you place items at the right distances.

You can zoom the canvas from 20 to 500%, move it with a finger, the mouse or the space bar, and on a phone a long press brings up a joystick for precise moves.

A photo of the venue as the background

The background can be a plain color, a venue photo from the library or a photo of the real venue that your client sent. You can fit or fill the photo, zoom it, straighten it along the horizon and move it. On such a background you see right away whether the setup fits and how it will look in this room. The same background is then used by the AI rendering.

A library of 9,000+ items

The library is split into categories: structures, floor coverings, textiles, florals, balloons, decor, sequins, lighting, furniture, tableware, themed decor and venue backgrounds. Each category has sections, and at the top there is a search by name and a shade filter: pick a color family, and only items in that color stay in the list. Items you like can be marked with a heart — they gather in Favorites.

Your own things are in the library too: the items of your inventory and your photos from Images. You place them on the canvas just like catalog items.

An item goes onto the canvas with a tap, with the “+” button or simply by dragging it where you need it. Before placing it, you can open its card to see the size and price.

Working with items

An item on the canvas can be moved, resized, rotated to an exact angle, flipped horizontally and vertically, duplicated, locked against accidental moves and reordered in layers — what is in front and what is behind. Several items can be grouped and moved together, or aligned by an edge or the center. The arrow keys move an item by 2 cm, with Shift by 10 cm.

An item's picture can be cropped — with a rectangle or along a line — and put into perspective by dragging its four corners. This helps when a photo of a piece was taken at an angle or you only need part of it.

All items of the scene are listed in Elements: there you can reorder, hide, lock and rename them, add a price and a note. The total is at the bottom of the list.

Color and light

Any item can be recolored to an exact color, and you can adjust brightness, hue, warmth, saturation and opacity. Ready-made palettes are there for recoloring: RAL, Pantone and the colors of SolaAir sequin panels — just find the number or the name. This way the project comes together in the palette of a specific event right away.

Shadows make the scene feel three-dimensional: an item can stand on the floor, against a wall or hang, and the scene light is set once for the whole setup — from the left, from above or from the right — so all shadows fall the same way.

Measurements and precision

The Measurements tool adds dimension lines: tap an item and its width and height appear, or draw a line from point to point by hand. Dimension lines are attached to the item and move with it. Snapping aligns items to their neighbors and to the edges of the canvas, while dragging you see the distances to the nearby items, and the frame can hug the visible part of the picture so transparent margins don't get in the way.

Text and signs

You can add text to the canvas: pick a font, size, color, style, a soft shadow or a glow. This is how neon signs, names and dates are made.

Sequin walls

A wall of sequin panels grows in whole panels: drag its edge and it adds one panel at a time, while the editor shows right away how many panels you need: “9 × 9 = 81 panels”. The sequins are laid out at random, with no visible seams, like on a real wall.

Floor plan

The second tab of the editor is the floor plan: a top view for the crew and the venue. It has its own library of symbols: tables, chairs, stages, aisles, entrances and exits, power, lighting, shapes. Every item on the plan has a label that you can move, edit or hide.

Saving and export

The project saves itself — while you work and right away if you close the tab. The save status is always visible in the editor header, and the back button takes you to the project card. The Download button exports the open tab as an image — the rendering or the floor plan — so you can send it to your client or your crew.

Convenience

The toolbars can be mirrored for left-handed use. The usual shortcuts work: undo and redo, copy, delete, exit a mode.
